World Cup Promotion at Planet Nollywood Camberwell 2010

For this years World Cup STAR lager teamed up with Planet Nollywood – one of London’s finest Nigerian clubs - to watch some of the key games in the 2010 World Cup live from South Africa.

 

 

11 World Cup games were shown live at Planet Nollywood and each match bought in a great crowd to cheer the teams on.

To support the event Planet Nollywood was offering free Suya (dried pieces of spiced meat—a well known dish in Nigeria) with every bucket (5 x 600ml bottles) of STAR lager purchased. The event kicked off on Saturday 12th June and many fans came to watch Nigeria VS Argentina including the music sensation JJC and Vocal Slender (BBCs Welcome to Lagos documentary). The STAR buckets proved a success with nearly everyone ordering a STAR bucket and eating the great tasting Suya!

The atmosphere was amazing as well as very intense with everyone on the edge of their seats willing the Nigerian team to win. It was a great game but unfortunately for Nigeria after a tough 90 minute game, they lost 1-0.

Even after the loss, sprits were still high and everyone had a great time at the event and looked forward to the next game at Nollywood.

It was great for STAR lager and Planet Nollywood to put on such a successful event— watch this space for future collaborations!
